On Tuesday morning, Taylor Swift announced her new LP, \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl,\u201d and here\u2019s everything – a meagre bounty, for now – that we know about it.<\/p>\n

1<\/b>. Word arrived after a countdown clock to 12:12 a.m. – an apropos debut for news of her 12th album. Swift made the announcement on \u201cNew Heights,\u201d the popular podcast co-hosted by her boyfriend and Kansas City Chiefs\u2019 tight end Travis Kelce. <\/p>\n

2<\/b>. While there\u2019s no information yet about a tracklist or collaborators, shortly after the news, a string of billboards in New York and Nashville directed fans to a Spotify playlist titled \u201cAnd, baby, that\u2019s show business for you.\u201d It\u2019s full of previously-released Swift hits produced by Max Martin and Shellback – suggesting the pop superproducers had prominent roles on the new record. <\/p>\n

3<\/b>. There\u2019s no release date but it\u2019s available for pre-order<\/a> on Swift\u2019s website now. The cover art is – assuming this isn\u2019t some misdirection – a cryptic minty green background and sparkly orange padlock. <\/p>\n

4<\/b>. Swift has been relentless in releasing new music over the last few years. In 2024, she releases\u201dThe Tortured Poets Department,\u201d followed by a massive \u201cAnthology\u201d edition of bonus tracks, which made \u201cPoets\u201d the bestselling album of the year. <\/p>\n

5<\/b>. Additionally, she re-purchased her back catalog of master recordings, first released through Big Machine Records, from investment group Shamrock Capital for a rumored nine-figure sum. Swift\u2019s re-recorded \u201cTaylor\u2019s Version\u201d editions of those albums were a popular rebuttal to her old nemesis Scooter Braun\u2019s purchase of her catalog. <\/p>\n

While two of those \u201cTaylor\u2019s Version\u201d LP\u2019s remain unreleased or unfinished (her self-titled debut and \u201cReputation,\u201d) she now plans to re-issues the originals as well. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
