Sean Avery<\/strong> is setting the record straight about the rumors that he dated Mary-Kate Olsen<\/strong><\/a> after decades of friendship.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been friends for 20 years,\u201d Avery, 45, told the Daily Mail<\/em><\/a> in an interview published on Tuesday, August 12. \u201cThat\u2019s a long time relationship. We were, like, kids in New York growing up together.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former New York Rangers player reportedly laughed off the romance rumors, telling the outlet, \u201cThat\u2019s the beauty of social media now and the algorithm. And I embrace all of that because anything that kicked that algo, you got to get that algorithm going. That\u2019s the name of the game.\u201d<\/p>\n
