One of the coolest actors of our generation fittingly played it cool at his latest movie premiere.<\/p>\n

Denzel Washington<\/strong> went casual in jeans to the Brooklyn, New York premiere of Highest 2 Lowest<\/em>, his fifth collaboration with Spike Lee<\/strong> that hits theaters Aug. 15.<\/p>\n

Also spotted on the red carpet to celebrate the upcoming Apple and A24 crime thriller were director Lee, 68, as well as co-stars Jeffrey Wright<\/strong> and rappers ASAP Rocky<\/strong> and Ice Spice<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Rocky was donning Celine, as confirmed by Just Jared<\/em><\/a>, which posted other red-carpet photos from the NYC premiere.<\/p>\n

Highest 2 Lowest<\/em> will begin streaming on Sept. 5 following its Aug. 15 cinematic release. The film is a modern reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa<\/strong>\u2019s 1963 film, High and Low<\/em>, a cult favorite celebrated for its social commentary.<\/p>\n

The official Highest 2 Lowest<\/em> trailer dropped<\/a> on Aug. 4 and ignited a firestorm of excitement, with fans flooding social media to share their unfiltered thoughts.<\/p>\n

Highest 2 Lowest<\/em> marks the fifth collaboration between Academy Award-winners Washington, 70, and Lee. It all started back in 1990 with the jazz drama Mo’ Better Blues<\/em>, followed by the biopic Malcolm X<\/em> in 1992, which earned Washington an Oscar nomination. They reunited for the acclaimed basketball drama He Got Game<\/em> in 1998 and the heist film Inside Man<\/em> in 2006.<\/p>\n

In May, Washington turned heads with a rare Cannes appearance<\/a> to promote Highest 2 Lowest<\/em>, donning a black suit and white sneakers on the red carpet. He waved to the crowd and posed with his co-stars, including Rocky, 36. Deadline<\/em> reported<\/a> that Washington was given an honorary Palme d\u2019Or during the 2025 festival in France.<\/p>\n

In June 2025, it was announced that Washington is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe<\/a> as he’s been cast for Black Panther 3<\/em>. MCU fans have waited a long time to see an iconic actor like Washington take on a role within the franchise.<\/p>\n
