Jenelle Evans<\/strong><\/a><\/span>\u2019 divorce from David Eason<\/strong><\/a> is proving to be a pricey one.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, North Carolina is a 50\/50 state and even though I paid for the majority of our assets, they had to be divided regardless,\u201d Jenelle, 33, exclusively shared with Us Weekly<\/i> on Tuesday, August 12. \u201cI don\u2019t think a lot of people put that into perspective when getting married, and they definitely should. Prenups should be more accepted into society in my opinion.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Monday, August 11, a report surfaced claiming Jenelle has to pay her ex-husband more than $30,000 a month as part of their divorce settlement.<\/p>\n

According to The Ashley\u2019s Reality Roundup<\/span><\/a>, Jenelle is now solely responsible for paying off the tax lien and debt that she and David, 37, owed to the North Carolina Department of Revenue, which currently sits at $40,000.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJenelle Evans and her ex-husband, David Eason, have gone through ups and downs over the years. The\u00a0Teen Mom 2\u00a0alum began dating Eason in 2015. Shortly after their September 2017 nuptials, the pair welcomed daughter Ensley in January 2018. (Evans is also the mom of son Jace, whom she shares with ex Andrew Lewis, and son [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The former Teen Mom 2<\/i> star is also responsible for paying what\u2019s left on the mortgage of their North Carolina home, a reported $138,920.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven though I was left with some debt,\u201d Jenelle claimed to Us<\/i>, \u201cI hope everyone can learn from my mistakes and life lessons once again. I\u2019m happy to close this chapter for good.\u201d<\/p>\n

In July, a judge agreed to grant<\/span><\/a> Jenelle\u2019s motion for an \u201cabsolute divorce\u201d between her and David.<\/p>\n

Before the divorce was finalized, Jenelle shined a light on why she chose to file for separation<\/span><\/a> in March 2024 after six years of marriage.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis attitude that he had, putting everyone in a bad mood all the time,\u201d she exclusively told Us<\/i><\/span><\/a> in July. \u201cEveryone was walking on eggshells and I\u2019m like, I don\u2019t have to live like this, and I don\u2019t have to stay together just because we have kids.\u201d<\/p>\n

The MTV reality star \u2014 who shares Jace, 16, with Andrew Lewis<\/strong>, Kaiser, 11, with Nathan Griffith<\/strong>, and Ensley, 8, with David \u2014 said she\u2019s in a much better place post-divorce and as she calls Las Vegas home.<\/p>\n
