Blake Lively<\/strong><\/a> called out Justin Baldoni<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s lawyer while being questioned during her deposition \u2014 telling him she believed he was part of the alleged smear campaign against her, Us Weekly<\/em> can exclusively report.<\/p>\n

On Monday, August 11, Lively\u2019s team filed a heavily redacted portion of Lively\u2019s deposition transcript. As Us<\/em> previously reported, the Gossip Girl<\/em> alum was grilled by Baldoni\u2019s legal team<\/a> on July 31 in New York City.<\/p>\n

Baldoni, 41, his lawyer Bryan Freedman<\/strong> and various members of his team were present. Lively had a team of attorneys next to her. The transcript reveals a small amount of the whole deposition.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen did the smear campaign end?\u201d Lively, 37, was asked by Baldoni\u2019s lawyer. She said, \u201cIt doesn\u2019t feel like it\u2019s ended.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tUpdate: 1\/7\/24, 12 p.m. ET \u2014 Bryan Freedman, who is Justin Baldoni\u2018s lawyer, issued the following statement in response to Lively\u2019s team: \u201cIt is painfully ironic that Blake Lively is accusing Justin Baldoni of weaponizing the media when her own team orchestrated this vicious attack by sending the New York Times grossly edited documents prior [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s still ongoing?\u201d Baldoni\u2019s attorney<\/a> asked Lively. She said, \u201cIt feels that way, ya.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWho do you believe is involved in the ongoing smear campaign?\u201d the attorney followed up.<\/p>\n

Lively replied, \u201cI believe \u2014 outside of what I know through attorneys \u2014 I believe that the defendants are involved.\u201d When asked which ones by Baldoni\u2019s lawyer, Lively said, \u201cAll of them. And I believe you are.\u201d<\/p>\n

Baldoni\u2019s lawyer subsequently asked, \u201cAnd what is the basis for your belief that all of the defendants and myself are involved in an ongoing smear campaign?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tBlake Lively suffered a small setback in court after a judge denied her effort to obtain communications sent by Justin Baldoni\u2019s legal team to content creators or the press about her, Us Weekly can confirm. On Monday, August 4, a New York federal judge ruled on the motion filed by Baldoni\u2019s lawyer\u2019s firm Liner Freedman [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cOutside of what I know through my attorneys, I believe the act of a retaliatory lawsuit and the press that you have done and the statements that you have made about me and my character have felt incredibly retaliatory,\u201d Lively said.<\/p>\n

Baldoni\u2019s lawyer responded by asking, \u201cWhat about the defendants, what did they do that\u2019s part of the ongoing smear campaign?\u201d She said, \u201cLike I said, outside of conversations with my attorney, I\u2019m unable to answer that.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Us<\/em> previously reported, Lively and her team accused Baldoni\u2019s team of leaking information<\/a> about the deposition to the media.<\/p>\n

Lively\u2019s motion read, \u201cThis began by selectively sharing from a \u2018source in the room\u2019 that [Baldoni] was in attendance, apparently to advance a storyline that the deposition was a face-to-face showdown between [Baldoni] and [Lively].\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress said Baldoni\u2019s team wanted to make it look like she needed a large team around her to testify, \u201cwhile misleadingly suggesting that only [Baldoni] and [Freedman] were present for the deposition on their side.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said Baldoni had eight lawyers with him and various other team members.<\/p>\n

Freedman scoffed at the allegations made by Lively\u2019s team. \u201c[Lively] also fails to explain why any such \u2018leak\u2019 could not have originated from [Lively], her husband [Ryan Reynolds<\/strong>], her multiple attorneys, legal or administrative staff from the law firm representing her (whose office she demanded host the deposition), or the catering staff employed thereby who served lunch,\u201d Freedman argued in response.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe war of words between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively is showing no sign of stopping. Baldoni\u2019s lawyer Bryan Freedman issued a fiery response to Lively\u2019s claims that he is trying to taint the jury pool in their upcoming trial, notably by leaking information in an attempt to disprove the actress\u2019 side of the story.\u00a0 [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cPutting aside the identity of the culprit, the identities of those in attendance for her deposition are not newsworthy because all parties are entitled to attend all depositions,\u201d he argued.<\/p>\n

As Us<\/em> previously reported, Lively sued Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment on the set of It Ends With Us<\/em>. She claimed he hired a crisis PR team to smear her in retaliation for complaining about his behavior.<\/p>\n
