Our apologies to everyone who was planning on seeing us at these festivals,\u201d the message reads.<\/p>\n The message is accompanied by video of Hook apologizing and speaking more in depth about the injury.<\/p>\n \u201cHi, I just want to apologize for canceling the gigs that I had to cancel because I had an accident and hurt my arm,\u201d Hook says in the video, which also features him demonstrating the lack of mobility in his left arm.<\/p>\n Hook shows he can freely lift his right arm above his head, but when he tries to lift his left arm, he can barely lift it above his waist without grimacing.<\/p>\n \u201cWeirdly, it\u2019s been letting me play but the pain his gotten so bad that I\u2019m going to see a specialist and have an operation next week,\u201d he says. \u201cA torn rotator cuff for anyone of you who have torn your rotator cuff and realize how painful it is.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSo, I\u2019m really sorry about canceling the gigs, but this is keeping me up. It\u2019s driving me crazy, so I hope you forgive me,\u201d he adds.<\/p>\n Hook was a founding member of Joy Division, the legendary late \u201870s post-punk band whose career was cut tragically short by the suicide of singer Ian Curtis<\/a><\/strong>. The survivors of that band regrouped as New Order in 1980 and scored several hits, including the dance club favorite \u201cBlue Monday.\u201d<\/p>\n Hook left the band in 2007.
