He opted to wear bold thick-framed glasses, which changed up the appearance of his face. While speaking to the publication, Lee said he became familiar with Kurosawa and Kikushima&#8217;s works while he was at NYU&#8217;s graduate film school. He also said Washington approached him with the script for <em>Highest 2 Lowest<\/em>, written by Alan Fox.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;[Washington] had gotten the property and he had sent it to me. He said, &#8216;Spike, I read the script. If you like it, let&#8217;s go.&#8217; I read it right away. Called him up.
