Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> is getting candid about his future, and it might not be in the United States. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The late night host opened up about the country\u2019s political climate during an Aug. 7 episode of \u201cThe Sarah Silverman Podcast.\u201d<\/a> While chatting with Silverman, his ex-girlfriend and longtime friend, he discussed a growing trend: people seeking citizenship abroad amid the current state of U.S. affairs.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI did get Italian citizenship,\u201d Kimmel revealed. \u201cI do have that.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Silverman called the move \u201camazing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n As their conversation continued, the pair reflected on how dire things have become in the U.S., agreeing that the situation is \u201cway worse\u201d than expected. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Kimmel continued to call the status of the country \u201cunbelievable.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cWhat\u2019s going on is … as bad as you thought it was gonna be, it\u2019s so much worse. It\u2019s just unbelievable,\u201d he said. \u201cI feel like it\u2019s probably even worse than [Donald Trump] would like it to be.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Silverman added that her hope is these challenges will eventually \u201cbring people together.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Kimmel had his own thoughts on this. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThere are a lot of people … now you see these clips of Joe Rogan<\/a> saying, \u2018Why\u2019s he doing this? He shouldn\u2019t be deporting people.\u2019 People go: \u2018F**k you, you supported him.\u2019 Whatever. I don\u2019t buy into that. I don\u2019t believe the \u2018F**k you, you supported him.\u2019 I think everybody has to have a \u2014 the door needs to stay open.\u201d Silverman agreed.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n He continued to emphasize the importance of allowing people to change. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cIf you want to change your mind, that\u2019s so hard to do,\u201d he said. \u201cIf you want to admit you were wrong, that\u2019s so hard and so rare to do.
