Daryl Hall and John Oates Resolve Business Feud, Is a Reunion Next?<\/a> originally appeared on Parade<\/a>.<\/i><\/p>\n Daryl Hall<\/a><\/strong> and John Oates<\/a><\/strong> have agreed to end their dispute over the Hall & Oates business partnership through arbitration, coming to a private settlement over the feud that went public in 2023 when Hall filed a lawsuit against Oates.<\/p>\n The news comes from a court filing on Aug. 11, per The Associated Press<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n \ud83c\udfac <\/strong>SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox<\/strong><\/a> \ud83c\udfac<\/strong><\/p>\n Together, as Hall & Oates, the duo has scored more than a dozen hits, including six No. 1 singles\u2014\u201cRich Girl,\u201d \u201cKiss on My List,\u201d \u201cPrivate Eyes,\u201d \u201cI Can\u2019t Go for That (No Can Do),\u201d and \u201cManeater.\u201d<\/p>\n Separately, the pair hasn\u2019t fared nearly as well, though Hall did have a top five solo hit in 1986 with \u201cDreamtime,\u201d his collaboration with Dave Stewart<\/a><\/strong> of the Eurythmics. He\u2019s continued to perform as a solo artist and has produced the online\/TV series Live from Daryl\u2019s House. <\/em>Oates has also continued to perform as a solo artist, releasing several albums.<\/p>\n At the center of their dispute was Oates\u2019 attempted sale of his stake in Whole Oats Enterprises LLP, which controls Hall & Oates copyrights, trademarks, royalties and other assets, to Primary Wave.<\/p>\n In his lawsuit, Hall said that Oates committed the \u201cultimate partnership betrayal\u201d by attempting to sell his share of the Hall & Oates joint venture without his permission, while Oates countered saying that Hall\u2019s \u201cinflammatory, outlandish, and inaccurate statements\u201d about him left him \u201cdeeply hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n With the business dispute behind them, it would seemingly open the door for the duo to reunite if their relationship can be repaired.<\/p>\n However, in recent interviews both artists said that was not likely to happen.<\/p>\n In 2024, Oates told The Associated Press<\/a><\/em> he has had \u201cno communication\u201d with his former partner and didn\u2019t see a reunion in the cards. \u201cI personally don\u2019t see it happening. It\u2019s not in my plans at all. You can ask Daryl Hall what he thinks. But for me personally, no,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Likewise, Hall told The Times<\/a><\/em> in February, a reunion was unlikely. \u201cThat ship has gone to the bottom of the ocean,\u201d Hall said. \u201cI\u2019ve had a lot of surprises in my life, disappointments, betrayals, so I\u2019m kind of used to it.\u201d<\/p>\n
