Dolly Parton has shared some advice to Kelly Clarkson following the death of her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Brandon, who was married to Kelly from 2013 until 2022<\/a>, sadly died on August 7 at the age of 48. He had been diagnosed with melanoma, an aggressive form of skin cancer, three years before his death.<\/p>\n

As Kelly mourns her ex-husband, her close friend Dolly has spoken out, encouraging Kelly to “try to remember the very best” of Brandon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I think you just have to be grateful for the years that you’ve had with someone,” Dolly told E! News<\/a>. “And you just try to remember the very best of all that.”<\/p>\n

Dolly, who’s husband Carl Thomas Dean recently passed away, encouraged Kelly to “take that energy that they had given you then and kind of just recycle that and let that become a part of you.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She added, “Just honor their memory and just know they’re in a better place than we are these days.”<\/p>\n

Dolly was also asked if she had reached out to Kelly yet following Brandon’s death. “No, I have not,” the singer admitted, revealing she has been extremely busy promoting her new memoir Star Of The Show: My Life On Stage.<\/p>\n

However, Dolly insisted, “But I will, I’ll catch up with her.”<\/p>\n

Dolly’s comments come after Brandon’s stepmom Reba McEntire spoke out for the first time since his death. Reba responded to a tribute posted by her son, Shelby Blackstock, on Instagram, writing, \u201cVery well said Shelby. Yes we will miss him so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his post, Shelby expressed, “Words cannot begin to capture the tremendous loss our family has endured. Yesterday, we lost a brother, a father, a grandfather, and a son.<\/p>\n

“Brandon Blackstock was an irreplaceable part of our family\u2014funny, bright, and full of life\u2014and he will be deeply missed.”<\/p>\n

Shelby said Brandon “taught me so much,” adding he has “countless cherished memories that I will hold onto forever. For every treasured moment we shared, there are so many more we\u2019ll never get to make together, but I know you\u2019ll still be there. Every hunt, every flight, and in the everyday moments of life, I\u2019ll feel your presence.”<\/p>\n

The tribute continued, “Although it may annoy you, you\u2019ll have to watch me do it all just a little better, a little smoother, and \u2014let\u2019s be honest\u2014 looking far more handsome than you ever could in the process.<\/p>\n

“We will always miss you, Brandon, and we will never stop loving, remembering and celebrating you.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
