Dolly Parton<\/strong> is sharing some words of wisdom for Kelly Clarkson<\/strong> as she mourns the loss<\/a> of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock<\/strong>.<\/p>\n On Monday, August 11, the legendary country star, 79, sat down with Entertainment Tonight<\/a><\/em> and gave some advice about grief to Clarkson, 43, and Reba McEntire<\/strong> \u2014 Blackstock\u2019s ex-stepmother \u2014 following the former talent manager\u2019s death on August 7.<\/p>\n \u201cI think that you just have to be grateful for the years that you\u2019ve had with someone,\u201d remarked Parton, who lost her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean<\/strong>, in March.<\/p>\n \u201cJust try to remember the very best of all that and take their energy that they had given you then, and kind of just recycle that and let that become a part of you,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n \u201cHonor their memory and know they\u2019re in a better place than we are these days,\u201d the \u201cJolene\u201d hitmaker added.<\/p>\n While Parton said she hadn\u2019t spoken to Clarkson yet, she noted she plans to \u201ccatch up with her,\u201d and gushed, \u201cI love Reba, and I love Kelly<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cSince U Been Gone\u201d singer married Blackstock in 2013, but the pair \u2014 who share River Rose<\/strong>, 11, and Remington Alexander<\/strong>, 9 \u2014 split in 2020.
