Reba McEntire<\/strong> penned a heartfelt tribute to her late stepson Brandon Blackstock<\/strong> days after he succumbed to his three-year battle with cancer.<\/p>\n \u201cLast week, my stepson\/oldest son Brandon Blackstock went home to be with God,\u201d she wrote via Instagram<\/a> on Tuesday, August 12. \u201cHis struggle is over and he is in eternal peace in God\u2019s presence.\u201d<\/p>\n Reflecting on memories they shared, the \u201cConsider Me Gone\u201d singer, 70, admitted there was \u201cno one else like him\u201d and said she was \u201cthankful for the time<\/a>\u201d they were able to have together.<\/p>\n The country star married the late talent manager\u2019s father, Narvel Blackstock<\/strong>, on June 3, 1989, when Brandon was only 12 years old. McEntire and Narvel divorced in 2015.<\/p>\n \u201cHis legacy and laughter will be carried on through his family,\u201d she continued of her stepson. \u201cRest in peace, cowboy. Happy trails to you til we meet again.\u201d<\/p>\n As Star<\/em> previously reported, Brandon passed away<\/a> on August 7 at his Montana home following a lengthy battle with melanoma. He was 48. The television producer left behind his \u201cbeautiful and loving partner,\u201d Brittney Marie Jones<\/strong>, as well as his four children.<\/p>\n Brandon shared River<\/strong>, 11, and Remington<\/strong>, 9, with ex-wife Kelly Clarkson<\/strong><\/a>, who he was married to from 2013 to 2022.
