The father of Brandon Blackstock<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s girlfriend, Brittney Marie Jones<\/strong>, paid tribute to the late talent manager following Blackstock\u2019s death at age 48 last week.<\/p>\n

\u201cYesterday we lost a good man Brandon Blackstock my daughter\u2019s soulmate and I considered him my son,\u201d Jones\u2019 father, Larry<\/strong>, wrote via Facebook on Friday, August 8. \u201cMy sincere condolences to Brittney Jones and family. We\u2019re sure going to miss your funny humor. R.I.P hoss!\u201d<\/p>\n

Blackstock\u2019s obituary<\/a> revealed details about his private life following his divorce from Kelly Clarkson<\/strong>, including his relationship with Jones.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter more than 20 years in the music business, Brandon found his way back to the mountains and the cowboy way of life he always wanted to live. He found a homestead and a love in Butte, Montana,\u201d the tribute read. \u201cBrandon, along with his beautiful and loving partner in life and business, Brittney Marie Jones, started building a life, building companies, and working tirelessly to create Headwaters Livestock Auction and what will live on as his legacy, The Valley View Rodeo in Bozeman, Montana.\u201d<\/p>\n

Blackstock died on August 7<\/a> after a private battle with cancer.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family,\u201d a rep for his family told Us Weekly<\/em> in a statement. \u201cWe thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family\u2019s privacy during this very difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n

His cause of death<\/a> was melanoma, a form of skin cancer, Silver Bow County Coroner Dan Hollis confirmed to Us<\/em> on Monday, August 11. The manner of his death was listed as natural causes.<\/p>\n

\u201cBrandon Blackstock passed away peacefully at his home in Butte, Montana, on August 7th under hospice care surrounded by his family,\u201d Hollis said in a statement.<\/p>\n

A source exclusively told Us<\/em> that Blackstock \u201clived a pretty quiet life in Montana,<\/a>\u201d and that was \u201chow he liked it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEven though he worked in entertainment in the past, that was not his personality. He was at home in Montana,\u201d the insider said. \u201cHe had his ranch and rodeo, but he preferred to go under the radar.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before he took on the rancher life, Blackstock worked with Starstruck Entertainment, owned by his father, Narvel Blackstock<\/strong>, who continues to run the talent company. Most notably, Brandon worked with Clarkson, 43, and Blake Shelton<\/strong>. He later founded Valley View Rodeo in Montana.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome of the people who worked with him at Starstruck [Entertainment] ended up moving to Montana to work on the rodeo with him,\u201d the insider revealed.<\/p>\n

As for Brandon\u2019s love life, he was married to Melissa Ashworth<\/strong> Wells<\/strong> from 2001 to 2012. The exes shared daughter Savannah<\/strong>, 23, and son Seth<\/strong>, 18.<\/p>\n

Ashworth Wells, 51, paid tribute to Brandon<\/a> via Instagram on Friday.<\/p>\n
