There are very few artists who can make everyone from X and Target to RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race drop what they\u2019re doing and rush out a response to an album announcement. Actually, only one, honestly.<\/p>\n
So there we were on Tuesday (Aug. 12), watching brands including the Olive Garden, FedEx, YouTube, Elmo, McDonald\u2019s United Airlines, the City of Las Vegas, Lasik and Duolingo Brasil all reacting to Taylor Swift<\/a>\u2018s announcement of her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl<\/a> by scrambling to get up pumpkin-hued memes to react to the color scheme for the singer\u2019s upcoming era.<\/p>\n More from Billboard<\/strong><\/p>\n The news was so breathlessly received that even seemingly polar opposite entities such as X and RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race just had to weigh in, with Elon Musk\u2019s social media platform writing \u201cNew Profile Pic<\/a>\u201d along with its X logo remade in bedazzled orange, while RuPaul\u2019s show high-kicked<\/a> into the showgirl of it all with a clip of a contestant Bosco doing a fan dance.<\/p>\n National chains couldn\u2019t resist either, as United Airlines tweeted, \u201cOkay, finally calmed down enough<\/a> to post something,\u201d along with a jet taking off through flaked pumpkin skies and Shake Shack wrote, \u201cFelt appropriate today<\/a>\u201d along with a shot of an orange drink. Buffalo Wild Wings teased \u201csomething hot coming 8.20.25\u201d over a snap of a golden wing<\/a> sitting atop their newly gingered logo and FedEx joked, \u201cdon\u2019t mind us we\u2019re just tidying up here<\/a> #NewProfilePic\u201d over, of course, their logo on top of the Showgirl color scheme.<\/p>\n Walmart wrote \u201ca girl can dream [orange heart emoji] along with an image of an orange display titled \u201cfingers crossed for 8\/13\u201d and the sign above reading \u201cnext era<\/a>,\u201d with cheekily named Swift-coded aisles 1989, 13, 22 and 87 in the background. While they didn\u2019t directly name Swift, Cinnabon posted a tangerine frosted sticky bun<\/a> with the message, \u201cfrom now on when i send content to my boss im sending this and it will unlock when they give me a compliment.\u201d<\/p>\n Google celebrated with a search result that brought on a rain of orange confetti<\/a> and snippets of Swift lyrics, Olive Garden quipped that \u201cshe\u2019s giving carbs, couture, and confetti. Consider this our official album cover prediction,\u201d over a PhotoShopped snap of a breadstick wearing a showgirl outfit<\/a> \u2014\u00a0with Fedex commenting \u201cshe\u2019d look even better in purple and orange boots\u201d \u2014\u00a0and Crumbl cookies promised, \u201csee you next era\u201d along with an orange flake square with the message \u201cThe Life of a Crumbl Girl<\/a>\u201d also in the Taylor next era hue.<\/p>\n Though he\u2019s usually obsessed with counting licks, Tootsie Pops mascot Mr. Owl wondered, \u201cAnyone else craving Orange today?<\/a>\u201d over a pic of a package or orange lollipops, while the Minions movie franchise posted \u201cthe life of a showgirl<\/a>\u201d along with a screengrab of one of the jabbering animated character sporting a Carmen Miranda-like showgirl fruit hat. Even Sesame Street\u2018s Elmo couldn\u2019t resist, with an adorable post of the Muppet wearing headphones with a google-eyed number 12 above his head on an orange background and the message, \u201cElmo is ready for it!<\/a> Are you? [orange heart emoji].\u201d<\/p>\n Given Taylor\u2019s NFL ties via Kansas City Chiefs boyfriend Travis Kelce, it wasn\u2019t a surprise that some sports franchises took a dip into the TS 12 publicity pool as well. The Cleveland Browns posted a take on the album art teaser via an LP sleeve with their orange helmet logo<\/a> \u2014\u00a0newly flaked in Swift\u2019s honor \u2014 and\u00a0the Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team wrote \u201cto those who celebrate<\/a>\u201d above side-by-side snaps of Swift in a swirl of orange next to similarly hued driver Kyle Larson.<\/p>\n And you know Kansas City showed up, with Union Station KC celebrating KC Swifties through Sunday with a new TS12 photo op<\/a> at its Grand Hall featuring a giant light-up TS12 logo surrounded by orange balloons.
