COLUMBIA \u2014 Actor Dolph Lundgren briefly studied at Clemson<\/a> but that didn’t stop him from smiling next to a statue of Cocky, the Gamecocks’ mascot on South Carolina’s<\/a> campus.<\/p>\n The actor from Sweden best known for his role as Ivan Drago in “Rocky IV” is filming a movie called “Straight Shot” in the capital city, according to the South Carolina Film Commission.<\/p>\n Before starting his acting career, Lundgren studied chemical engineering at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. He attended both Washington State University and Clemson in the 1970s, studying chemistry on various scholarships.<\/p>\n Drago, where he was main antagonist and rival of Rocky Balboa played by Sylvester Stallone, was his breakthrough role in 1985. He reprised it in 2018 in Creed II.<\/p>\n On Instagram, the 67-year-old Lundgren captioned a photo “At U of South Carolina hanging out with my buddy Cocky \u2212 not be mixed up with my Italian friend,” a reference to Rocky.<\/p>\n According to the commission, the movie is set to film in downtown Columbia specifically through Aug. 29. The movie stars Lundgren, David A.R.
