Music\u2019s youngest consumers Gen Alpha has no interest in rock, alt-rock, hard rock, classic rock or any of rock \u2018n roll\u2019s many permeations, according to a new survey.<\/p>\n

Generation Alpha (Gen Alpha) refers to those born roughly between 2010 and 2024. They are the first generation to be entirely born in the 21st century and are characterized as digital natives.<\/p>\n

Zigazoo \u201cthe world\u2019s largest social media platform for kids\u201d polled 4500+ Gen Alpha users on their favorite music<\/a> <\/a>genres<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It would be interesting to know more about the average age of those actually responding. But overall the poll offers a fresh look art what\u2019s resonating with the next generation of listeners. The results highlight that Gen Alpha has no interest in rock music.<\/p>\n

Pop: 31%
K-Pop: 25%
Christian: 17%
Country: 17%
Hip-Hop: 10%<\/strong><\/h4>\n

With a combined total of 56% Pop and K-Pop dominate. But the popularity of Christian and Country music is also significant.<\/p>\n

Tastes can change as you get older. But 0% interest in Rock and Hip-Hop down at 10% should be a cause for concern for those creating and working in these genres.<\/p>\n
