The ballroom pro is going to be the new host of Extra<\/em><\/a>, effectively replacing Billy Bush<\/strong>. The news was confirmed on August 13, just about one month ahead of the DWTS Season 34 premiere.<\/p>\n Hough shared the announcement on Instagram<\/a> where he received a great deal of love and support from his Dancing With the Stars<\/em> family.<\/p>\n “LFG,” wrote<\/a> Hough’s sister and DWTS co-host, Julianne Hough.<\/p>\n “YESSIR,” added<\/a> longtime DWTS cast member and Derek’s best friend, Mark Ballas.<\/p>\n “Congratulations,” said<\/a>Dancing With the Stars<\/em> judge Carrie Ann Inaba, adding three clapping emoji.<\/p>\n Derek also received congratulatory messages from ballroom pros Val Chmerkovskiy and Sasha Farber.<\/p>\n Dozens of fans have also reacted to the news, both on Instagram and other social networking sites, such as Reddit<\/a>. He and his wife, Hayley Erbert, shared the big news with the world<\/a> on July 22.<\/p>\n “We can\u2019t believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small,” Erbert captioned a joint Instagram post at the time.<\/p>\n Nevertheless, Derek seems really excited for his new hosting gig.<\/p>\n “The ballroom has been my stage, my home, and my launchpad.
