The \u201cFriends\u201d star briefly spoke about the separation during a video clip<\/a> filmed for Vanity Fair, shared on Monday. In the video, Aniston looked back on her work and added commentary about certain scenes. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She made a nod to Pitt when she spoke about the 2006 movie she did with Vince Vaughn, \u201cThe Break-Up.\u201d The movie was mostly filmed in 2005, the same year that she and Pitt officially divorced.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI might\u2019ve just gone through a separation,\u201d Aniston said with a laugh. \u201cThat little separation, I\u2019m sure nobody remembers that.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt was kind of cathartic to go right from that [separation to the film],\u201d she added. \u201cSo when they came to me with the offer, they were a little nervous about making the offer because they thought, \u2018Oh, is that insensitive? Is it inappropriate?\u2019 But I actually thought, \u2018What a great opportunity.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Aniston said she knew taking the role would \u201cactually kind of benefit me emotionally, just as a human being, and also serve the script and the character pretty well.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In her print interview with the magazine,<\/a> she also touched on \u201cthe love triangle\u201d narrative that followed her during her split from Pitt. Pitt infamously left Aniston for his \u201cMr. & Mrs. Smith\u201d co-star, Angelina Jolie. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

What came next was a \u201cvulnerable time\u201d for Aniston, she said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
