Kid Cudi said Wednesday that he only testified during Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs\u2019 sex trafficking trial because he was subpoenaed. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI was just there because I had to be,\u201d the rapper-producer, whose government name is Scott Mescudi, said during a Wednesday episode of Alex Cooper\u2019s \u201cCall Her Daddy<\/a>\u201d podcast. \u201cI hated every minute of it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Mescudi was one of several witnesses in Combs\u2019 trial in which federal prosecutors in New York argued against Combs on five charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion. Last month, the jury ultimately found Combs guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and not guilty of the other three. His sentencing is set for October. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Mescudi, who briefly dated singer Casandra \u201cCassie\u201d Ventura in 2011, said he was asked twice to testify in the trial and declined both times. The government then subpoenaed him, leading to his explosive testimony<\/a> where he described Combs as \u201ca Marvel supervillain.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Ventura, a former long-time partner of Combs, was key to the trial because she filed a damning lawsuit against him. Though it was quickly settled, it laid the groundwork for dozens of others<\/a> to come forward with their own allegations against the mogul.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Mescudi claimed that Combs blew up his luxury vehicle and broke into his house during his short romance with Ventura. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n On the podcast, Mescudi said his relationship with Ventura was \u201cjust chaotic and intense.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI was already out of my mind dealing with my own personal shit. So I was really just like, \u2018Fuck it.\u2019 I was just willing to walk into the fire,\u201d he said.<\/span> <\/strong>\u201cOver the years, I just thought about it as just some wild shit that happened in my rock-and-roll life.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n He added that he kept Ventura in mind during his testimony.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI\u2019ve always just wanted to see her thrive and do well and be happy because I know she was living a nightmare,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd I was just there to support her. That\u2019s what kind of gave me peace with it when I sat down in that chair.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n During his testimony<\/a>, Mescudi said he \u201cknew Sean Combs was violent.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n At one point, defense attorney Brian Steel asked Mescudi if he believed Ventura played both him and Combs. Mescudi responded with, \u201cTrue.\u201d Mescudi also said<\/a> he and Ventura\u2019s relationship ended because \u201cthe drama was too out of hand.\u201d He<\/span> recently got married<\/a>, and elaborates more about his relationship with Ventura in his newly released memoir, \u201cCudi: The Memoir.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
