Billy Bob Thornton’s ‘Landman’ Sets Season 2 Premiere Date<\/a> originally appeared on Parade<\/a>.<\/i><\/p>\n This year’s Emmys may not show any love for Billy Bob Thornton<\/strong> and company \u2014 but that doesn’t mean fans aren’t counting the days until more Landman<\/em> hits the masses.<\/p>\n Taylor Sheridan<\/strong>‘s acclaimed series will return to Paramount+ on Nov. 16, it was announced Wednesday, following the first season’s explosive finale that aired back in January.<\/p>\n The Texas-set drama that was co-created by Sheridan, 55 \u2014 the celebrated mastermind behind Yellowstone<\/em>, Tulsa King<\/em> and other small-screen gems \u2014 is based on the podcast\u00a0Boomtown\u00a0<\/em>from Imperative Entertainment and\u00a0Texas Monthly<\/em>.\u00a0In addition to Thornton, 70, Landman<\/em> stars Demi Moore<\/strong>, Andy Garcia<\/strong> and Ali Larter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Season 2 will feature several new stars, including Sam Elliott<\/strong> in an unknown role and Stefania Spampinato<\/strong> as Garcia’s wife, according to Deadline<\/em><\/a>. Among the surprises in the first season’s finale was \u2014 spoiler alert \u2014 Jon Hamm<\/strong>‘s hard-nosed character dying of a heart attack.<\/p>\n Despite all the high praise for Oscar-winner Thornton and his portrayal of a no-nonsense oil-industry liaison, Landman<\/em> was shockingly snubbed by the Primetime Emmy Awards this year. Added to the love from critics, meanwhile, the show was also a commercial success, with 35 million global streaming viewers for the premiere episode \u2014 which set new records for Paramount+, according to Deadline<\/em>.<\/p>\n Before the Emmy snubs were revealed this summer, Thornton was out promoting Landman<\/em> in June and made insightful comments about his connection with Hollywood<\/a> these days.<\/p>\n “I don\u2019t talk about politics and stuff with people. I just kind of stay out of it all. I\u2019m not really much of a part of Hollywood,” he told People<\/em><\/a>. “I\u2019m at home with the\u00a0family, or I\u2019m in a recording studio or on the road or making this.”<\/p>\n Thornton added that he is “for sure” having more fun portraying Norris than he first imagined when he signed on to star in Sheridan’s series.<\/p>\n “It’s just unabashedly who he is,” Thornton said of his Landman<\/em> role. “I mean, he doesn\u2019t kind of hold back. It’s almost like a few characters I’ve played boiled into one.”<\/p>\n
