Dolly Parton offered a tender message of solace to the loved ones of Brandon Blackstock, a talent manager who died from skin cancer last week at the age of 48.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Blackstock was the ex-husband of Kelly Clarkson and the former stepson of Reba McEntire<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Parton, who lost her husband, Carl Thomas Dean, in March, was asked by Entertainment Tonight on Monday<\/a> if she had any words of comfort for Clarkson and McEntire. While she revealed she hasn\u2019t yet had a chance to speak with them directly, her affection for both women was evident. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI think that you just have to be grateful for the years that you\u2019ve had with someone, and you just try to remember the very best of all that,\u201d Parton said. \u201cTake their energy that they had given you then, and you just kind of recycle that, and let that become a part of you. Blackstock died Aug. 7<\/a>, three years after being diagnosed with skin cancer. A day before his death, Clarkson postponed<\/a> the remainder of her Las Vegas residency dates, citing personal reasons. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
