Two New Jersey pop culture institutions who have the same name recently shared the same air for the first time.<\/p>\n
Since 2016, Gaten Matarazzo<\/a>, 22, has been known for playing Hawkins, Indiana kid Dustin Henderson in \u201cStranger Things<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n The actor, who grew up in Little Egg Harbor Township<\/a>, has the same last name as another actor who got her start as a child.<\/p>\n Heather Matarazzo<\/a>, 42, had her breakout role as Dawn Wiener<\/a>, an 11-year-old New Jersey middle school student who can\u2019t seem to catch a break<\/a>.<\/p>\n Matarazzo\u2019s Dawn is the heart of the beloved 1995 movie \u201cWelcome to the Dollhouse<\/a>\u201d from Jersey\u2019s own writer-director Todd Solondz.<\/p>\n The two Matarazzos are not related.<\/p>\n But that didn\u2019t stop them from taking a selfie upon their first meeting, to much applause from Instagram.<\/p>\n \u201cFinally got to meet my \u2018son,\u2019\u201d Heather Matarazzo captioned the photo. \u201cWhat an absolute delight he is.\u201d<\/p>\n
