Harvey Weinstein\u2019s legal bills have hit the \u201ctens of millions\u201d an insider says \u2014 and the fallen producer is now poring over his past movie contracts from jail to see if he\u2019s entitled to any dough.<\/p>\n
This month, the Miramax co-founder<\/a> filed a lawsuit in New York State Supreme Court alleging he\u2019s owed $2.3 million by his former partners in the 2015 Broadway musical, \u201cFinding Neverland.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n A source told us, \u201cWeinstein has racked up tens of millions of legal bills\u2026 so he could use the money.\u201d<\/p>\n He\u2019s facing his third retrial<\/a>, NYC prosecutors said Wednesday, on a third-degree rape charge stemming from 2013.<\/p>\n Harvey Weinstein is suing his co-producers of \u201cFinding Neverland.\u201d Curtis Means\/UPI\/Shutterstock<\/p>\n The Broadway musical was adapted from a Weinstein Company film. FilmMagic<\/p>\n He\u2019s already been convicted of criminal sex act against one woman in NYC and found not guilty in another charge, while continuing to appeal a 2022 sexual assault conviction in LA, where he was sentenced to 16 years in prison. (He has denied the charges against him.)<\/p>\n We hear that the former Hollywood fixture has now been working from jail on the \u201cFinding Neverland\u201d <\/a>suit and that he met with his attorney Robert J. Hantman on Monday.<\/p>\n \u201cHarvey told Robert, \u2018While I have been in jail, I have had time to go over my old deals and realized that the co-producers owe me this money,’\u201d the source said.<\/p>\n The project centered on the creator of \u201cPeter Pan,\u201d and the film starred Johnny Depp. Miramax<\/p>\n<\/span><\/div>\n
