Wednesday\u2019s highly anticipated \u201cNew Heights\u201d podcast<\/a> featuring special guest star Taylor Swift resumed late Wednesday night after a glitch interrupted its live premiere<\/a> on YouTube.<\/p>\n

More than 1 million people were watching the 14-time Grammy winner discuss the theme of her new album<\/a>, \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl\u201d \u2014 a 12-track album that will be released on Oct. 3 \u2014 when the livestream went dark about one hour and 44 minutes in.<\/p>\n

The show returned at 12:37 a.m. ET on Aug. 14 after the \u201cNew Heights\u201d X account shared the link to the show and said \u201cWE ARE BACK!!!!\u201d with a heart on fire emoji.<\/p>\n

Taylor Swift was discussing the meaning behind her new album, \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl,\u201d on the \u201cNew Heights\u201d podcast when it suddenly stopped due to a glitch on YouTube on August 13, 2025. YouTube\/New Heights<\/p>\n

When the show went down, the podcast account posted on X, \u201cWe hit a glitch but will be back shortly!!!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShoutout all the 92%ers and swifties for actually helping us break the internet.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fever superstar Caitlin Clark recognized the power of the Swifties<\/a> and pondered the possibility of a crash earlier in the day.<\/p>\n

\u201cAre we sure YouTube isn\u2019t going to crash tonight?\u201d Clark wrote on X Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Prior to the glitch, Swift revealed the cover art of \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl\u201d before sharing the track list.<\/p>\n

Boyfriend Travis Kelce said he knows a lot about the album<\/a>, teasing it\u2019s \u201cupbeat\u201d and differs from her most recent album, \u201cThe Tortured Poets Department,\u201d which dropped last April.<\/p>\n

\u201cLife is more upbeat,\u201d Swift said while smiling at the three-time Super Bowl champ.<\/p>\n

Swift explained that the album cover for \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl,\u201d which features a glamorous shot of the singer floating in a bathtub clad in a bedazzled stage dress, represents \u201cthe end of my night\u201d when she exits the stage following a physically demanding performance, a la her three-hour Eras Tour set.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo when I\u2019m on tour, I have the same day every single day. \u2026 And my day ends with me in a bathtub, not usually in a bedazzled dress,\u201d she said. \u201cI wanted to sort of like glamorize all the different aspects of how that tour felt. And that\u2019s how that felt to like be at the end of the night when all this has gone down. You won\u2019t be able to get to bed till four in the morning after this. But you had to jump through 50 million hoops in this obstacle course that is your show. And you did it. You got two more in a row. But you did it tonight.<\/p>\n

This, to me, tells more of what the actual content, lyrically, of the album are.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift said she worked on the album in Europe last summer as she performed the international leg of the Eras Tour. The performances concluded in Canada in December.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
