That is the official date on which Taylor Swift will follow-up on the monumental success of 2024\u2019s The Tortured Poets Department with her 12th album.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Christened <\/span>The Life Of A Showgirl<\/span><\/a>, the record will be produced by Max Martin, Shellback & Taylor Swift \u2013 a combination which has previously yielded hits such as We Are Never Getting Back Together, 22, I Knew You Were Trouble, Shake It Off, Style, Wildest Dreams, Delicate and Ready For It?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Details of the record were confirmed via Swift\u2019s appearance on Travis Kelce\u2019s New Heights podcast. The BBC reported that more than <\/span>\u201c<\/span>more than 1.3 million tuned in live for the broadcast.\u201d<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve never made an album before where it\u2019s just the three of us making a focused album,\u201d Swift said. \u201cIt felt like catching lightning in a bottle.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThis album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during [The Eras Tour],\u201d Swift continued during the podcast. \u201cIt comes from the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life. So as you said, bangers.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The standard edition of the record released via Republic (EMI in the UK) will contain 12 tracks, and one that is sure to generate a huge amount of interest is the title track, which features <\/span>Sabrina Carpenter<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The record is available for pre-order now on vinyl, CD and cassette. As Music Week<\/em> noted in our latest issue, after years of consecutive quarterly growth, <\/span>vinyl sales dipped by 2.8%<\/span><\/a> year-on-year in Q2 of this year. Part of the problem being that 2025 was being compared to a 2024 quarter that saw Swift break streaming records with The Tortured Poets Department. Exploding to a <\/span>No.1 UK debut on consumption of 270,091 units<\/span><\/a>, TTPD was off to the fastest start of any album for more than seven years at the time, and the fastest of Taylor Swift\u2019s career. It now stands on sales of 931,825 according to Official Charts Company data.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Interestingly, however, this year has already seen <\/span>Swift<\/span><\/a> break a chart record. With the <\/span>chart-topping result for Lover (Live From Paris)<\/span><\/a>, Swift has moved ahead of Madonna to become the female artist with the most No.1 albums in the UK ever. As it currently stands, Swift is now equal with Elvis Presley as the international artist with most No.1 albums in UK chart history. The Beatles and Robbie Williams are out in front with 15 each.<\/span><\/p>\n
