Could a reconciliation between Prince Harry<\/strong><\/a> and King Charles III<\/strong><\/a> really be on the horizon?<\/p>\n

This question can\u2019t really be answered just yet, but there\u2019s a possibility that the father and son will cross paths when Harry, 40, travels to the U.K. next month for duties connected to his role as a patron for WellChild. (People<\/em> hinted at a meeting<\/a> between Harry and Charles in a new report published earlier this week.)<\/p>\n

Harry and Charles, 76, have been at odds since the Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan Markle<\/strong>, parted ways with the royal family in 2020 and relocated to California. Harry has made rare trips home, but the last time he crossed paths<\/a> with his father was in February 2024, after Charles went public with his cancer diagnosis.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love my family,\u201d Harry said during an appearance<\/a> on Good Morning America<\/em> at the time. \u201cThe fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him, I\u2019m grateful for that. I jumped on a plane and went to go see him as soon as I could.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tKing Charles III and Prince Harry face an uphill \u2014 and potential impossible \u2013 battle in ever reaching a reconciliation amid their ongoing years-long feud.The father-son rift arguably hit an all-time low last week, when Harry said in a BBC News interview that cancer-stricken Charles, 76, \u201cwon\u2019t speak with me,\u201d adding \u201cI don\u2019t know how [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

During the same GMA<\/em> interview, Harry hinted at \u201cother\u201d trips to the U.K. that he had planned. \u201cI\u2019ll stop in and see my family as much as I can,\u201d he said at the time. It seems that never came to fruition. (A spokesperson for the duke told Us<\/em> in May 2024 that they didn\u2019t meet up<\/a> despite Harry\u2019s U.K. trip for the Invictus Games\u2019 10th anniversary.)<\/p>\n

The distance between Harry and Charles continued to grow, coming to a head earlier this year. In April, Harry lost his appeal<\/a> for government-funded security in the U.K. (He and Meghan lost their protection in his home country after leaving the royal family.)<\/p>\n

In a bombshell BBC interview<\/a> following the lost appeal, Harry hinted that his father had some influence on the decision.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a lot of control and ability in my father\u2019s hands,\u201d he said in the May interview. \u201cUltimately, this whole thing could be resolved through him. Not necessarily by intervening, but by stepping aside, allowing the experts [to] do what is necessary.\u201d<\/p>\n

Harry also claimed Charles \u201cwon\u2019t speak to me\u201d during the same interview and called on his father to reconcile.<\/p>\n
