One Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> fan is saying \u201cDon\u2019t Blame Me\u201d to the man she canceled a date with because of a countdown clock that appeared on Swift\u2019s website.<\/p>\n

The clock, which counted down to 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday, August 13, ultimately led to Swift\u2019s announcement of her next album, The Life of a Showgirl.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI told the guy I needed to cancel our first date for Taylor Swift\u2019s upcoming announcement so I could post live from home,\u201d influencer McCall Mirabella<\/strong> told People<\/em><\/a> in a story published Tuesday, August 12.<\/p>\n

Mirabella, 22, is a diehard Swiftie who, according to her Instagram<\/a>, appears to have followed the singer around the world on her Eras Tour, dressing in a costume from different Swift eras for each show. Outfits included a Travis Kelce<\/strong> costume \u2014 complete with a fake mustache \u2014 and different imitations of Swift, 35, including from her TIME Magazine<\/em> cover and each album the singer has released over her career.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was a risk the announcement wouldn\u2019t be big, but it was worth the gamble,\u201d Mirabella added. \u201cHe asked, \u2018You\u2019re canceling on me for Taylor Swift?\u2019 and I said, \u2018Yes.\u2019 And I\u2019d do it again!\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift ultimately announced that the album will include 12 new songs. She also showed off the album art and song titles<\/a>, revealing that Sabrina Carpenter<\/strong> will be featured on the title track.<\/p>\n

It seems Mirabella felt the cancellation was worth it, saying, \u201cThe release will be celebrated like it\u2019s a national holiday.\u201d<\/p>\n

The influencer\u2019s decision also came with a dose of self-awareness. Knowing only the most ardent Swifties would understand canceling a date to watch a clock count down to something unknown, she posted her call to her date to cancel via TikTok<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Wearing a pink Eras T-shirt, Mirabella calmly explained the situation to the man on the other end, saying she believed the countdown to be leading to an album announcement and blaming the \u201ccontent I do\u201d for requiring her to stay home and post her reactions live. She then silently hit herself on the head with her palm while her date started to respond.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s hard to make out exactly what he said, but it sounds like he replied, \u201cYou\u2019re canceling because of Taylor Swift?\u201d before the video abruptly ended.<\/p>\n
