Fresh off his Rolling Stone<\/em> cover<\/a>, Steve Lacy has shared his first new single in three years, \u201cNice Shoes.\u201d He announced the single on his Instagram page with a link to a new website, www.wearesteve.net<\/a> where he\u2019s also selling merch featuring the Oh Yeah<\/em> cover art.<\/p>\n \u201cThe song \u201cNice Shoes\u201d features a rolling breakbeat as Lacy muses on romance, sexual fluidity, and everything in between before cutting into his classic guitar-driven melody towards the song\u2019s end. The lyrics bounce between absurdist (\u201cIf I had a dollar for the friends I would fuck, I could buy a pair of really nice shoes\u201d) and insightful (\u201ccareful how you spend your time, it adds up\u201d). He muses on \u201cromantic boners,\u201d as he describes it to Rolling Stone<\/em> in his cover story, as well as the sometimes subtle nature of melancholy. \u201cCrazy how you could be sad and not notice,\u201d he sings. \u201cAll I need is my guitar and serotonin.\u201d<\/p>\n More from Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/p>\n In an Instagram post announcing the single, he credits producer Nightfeelings and Matthew Castellanos for writing and production help.
