Taking to Instagram<\/a> on Thursday, August 14, Witherspoon candidly shared what it was like to balance raising her three kids<\/a>, Ava<\/strong>, 25, Deacon<\/strong>, 21, and Tennessee, 12, with her high-powered acting career. (Witherspoon shares Deacon and Ava with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe<\/strong> and Tennessee with ex-husband Jim Toth<\/strong>.)<\/p>\n

The Legally Blonde<\/em> star, 49, shared a carousel of throwback photos and shared her parenting challenges.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tReese Witherspoon became a mom at age 23 and has been making candid motherhood confessions ever since. The actress welcomed daughter Ava with her ex-husband, Ryan Phillippe, in 1999, and the little one became a big sister four years later when son Deacon arrived. Following the Cruel Intentions costars\u2019 2006 split, Witherspoon wed Jim Toth [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She captioned the slide, \u201cIt looked like my kids constantly giving me career advice.\u201d<\/p>\n

As well as the more light-hearted moments of parenting<\/a> while also building her career, Witherspoon admitted it could be a struggle.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt looked really hard sometimes. I\u2019d cry working 14 to 17 hours, sometimes all night long and still woke up early for carpool. I was deliriously tired,\u201d she confessed.<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cIt looked like trying to say something positive about work when I got home at night. So my kids would know that my work was meaningful to me and could be fun!\u201d<\/p>\n
