{"id":1962095,"date":"2025-08-15T13:19:28","date_gmt":"2025-08-15T13:19:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=1962095"},"modified":"2025-08-15T13:19:28","modified_gmt":"2025-08-15T13:19:28","slug":"weekend-entertainment-a-nightmare-for-alice-cooper","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/weekend-entertainment-a-nightmare-for-alice-cooper\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekend Entertainment | A Nightmare for Alice Cooper?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>It was only a matter of time before a legendary rock act and a band that pays tribute to it scheduled shows here on the same weekend.<\/p>\n<p>That time has arrived.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, <strong>Coop\u2019s Nightmare<\/strong> \u2013 a tribute to Alice Cooper \u2013 will headline a show at Warren Community Amphitheatre.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, <strong>Alice Cooper<\/strong> himself will perform at Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre.<\/p>\n<p>Sure, it\u2019s bad timing. But it\u2019s also a rare opportunity to judge just how closely a tribute show comes to the real thing.<\/p>\n<p>Coop\u2019s Nightmare will take the stage at 8:30 p.m., with co-headliner <strong>Dirty Deeds<\/strong> (a tribute to AC\/DC) kicking things off at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the gate.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Alice Cooper, who has played the Mahoning Valley many times, is bringing his \u201cToo Close for Comfort\u201d tour to town. Was he referring to the fact that there is a tribute show playing the night\u00a0 before?<\/p>\n<p>The show will start at 8:30 p.m. Click <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ticketmaster.com\/alice-cooper-youngstown-ohio-08-17-2025\/event\/050062A993221066\">HERE<\/a> for tickets.<\/p>\n<p>About a thousand people showed up for a concert featuring <strong>Red Jumpsuit Apparatus<\/strong>, with <strong>Tantric<\/strong> and Youngstown rockers <strong>Turbo Lovers<\/strong> on Saturday at New Waterford Village Park.<\/p>\n<p>That is as unlikely a place as you\u2019ll ever find for a rock show, but it worked well.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday\u2019s concert anchored a weekend of shows at the beautiful little park in the center of this out-of-the-way town in Columbiana County.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Country artist <strong>Lewis Brice<\/strong> opened the <strong>Amped Up music festival<\/strong>, as it was dubbed, on Saturday, while country singer <strong>Morgan Myles<\/strong> was the headliner Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The park has a large pond and a new building with concessions and bathrooms. It also has a permanent stage structure at the top of a rise. It\u2019s a natural amphitheater.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Tantric performs at New Waterford Village Park on Saturday.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The atmosphere was very small-town friendly, kind of like a community picnic. Ronnie White, the frontman for Red Jumpsuit, remarked several times at how well he was treated by the promoter and how cool the event was.<\/p>\n<p>As for the promoter, that would be the village itself, led by Mayor Shane Patrone. He has been staging rock shows in the park for three years now as part of an effort to raise awareness of his pleasant but off-the-beaten-track town.<\/p>\n<p>The village will do it again Sept. 12-13, when it presents the <strong>New Waterford Music Festival<\/strong>, featuring <strong>Hinder<\/strong>, with opening act <strong>Parker Barrow<\/strong>, the first night and <strong>Saliva<\/strong>, with <strong>12 Stones, Paralandra, Dauzat St. Marie<\/strong> and <strong>Earshot<\/strong>, the second night.<\/p>\n<p>Gates will open at 5 p.m. the first day and 3 p.m. the second day.<\/p>\n<p>Admission is a mere $10. There will be plenty of food trucks on the site and a bar. There\u2019s also\u00a0 picnic tables and shade.<\/p>\n<p>Parking lots are available all over the town, and they\u2019re all within walking distance. That\u2019s the Brier Hill neighborhood. Admission is free.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In New Castle, the <strong>Lawrence County Fair<\/strong> continues today through Saturday. The free event will take place from 3-7 p.m. at Wick Park on the city\u2019s north side.<\/p>\n<p>Hall is a singer who has opened for acclaimed artists such as Yo-Yo Ma, Kim Waters, Paul Taylor and Marion Meadows.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She has also contributed backup vocals to Grammy Award-winning artists such as the Gaither Vocal Band, Chantae Cann and Chrisette Michele.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hall is also involved in musical theater.
