Is \u201ctabloid\u201d era of \u201cSaturday Night Live<\/a>\u201d over? Pete Davidson<\/a> thinks so. The sketch series alum said during a recent appearance on \u201cThe Breakfast Club<\/a>\u201d radio show, which you can watch in the below video, that his own celebrity status helped make \u201cSNL<\/a>\u201d more of a \u201ctrendy\u201d show during his tenure. Davidson<\/a> joined the cast at age 20 in 2014 and stayed for eight seasons, departing in 2022.<\/p>\n

Davidson explained that the \u201cSNL<\/a>\u201d brass as a \u201cwhole loved\u201d that \u201cpeople are talking about\u201d the series, in part due to his own highly publicized personal life. \u201cI brought a lot of pop culture into the show. I made it sort of a tabloid-y, trendy thing, unintentionally,\u201d Davidson said, adding, \u201cI don\u2019t want someone on YouTube to be like, \u2018Motherfucker thinks he\u2019s the reason.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor also shared he felt \u201cembarrassed\u201d to be less experienced than his co-stars, many of whom were \u201c10, 15 years…<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
