Season 14 of \u201cChicago Fire\u201d premieres on NBC on Wednesday, October 1, but some cast members aren\u2019t returning to the procedural drama.<\/p>\n
Daniel Kyri<\/b>, who plays Darren Ritter, will have only a limited role in the upcoming season. He penned an emotional goodbye message after shooting his final episode.<\/p>\n
\u201cYesterday, I filmed my last scenes as Ritter & I\u2019m still so amazed that my first-ever TV gig \u2014 a role that was originally meant for just three episodes \u2014 turned into seven incredible years (SEVEN?!?!! Whatttt???!) and spanned eight seasons of this iconic show,\u201d he wrote via Instagram<\/a> on Thursday, August 14. \u201cWhile I know I may never find another cast and crew as amazing as this one, I intend to carry what I\u2019ve learned from you to every set in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n Kyri added that he \u201ccan\u2019t wait\u201d for fans to see what\u2019s in store for Ritter this season. He began playing the character during season 7 of \u201cChicago Fire.\u201d<\/p>\n Jake Lockett<\/b>, who has played Sam Carver since season 11, was also written out of season 14.<\/p>\n \u201cWhile I don\u2019t exactly know what the future looks like, I do know that it won\u2019t be exactly what it was and I am going to miss the hell out of that. Brandon Larracuente<\/b> is joining the cast as firefighter Sal Vasqez. \u201cChicago Fire\u201d showrunner Andrea Newman told TVInsider <\/a>that the new character is \u201ccharming\u201d and has a rich \u201cfamily history in the first responder world, much of it buried.\u201d<\/p>\n As for the returning cast, Taylor Kinney<\/b> (Kelly Severide), Miranda Rae Mayo<\/b> (Stella Kidd) and Dermot Mulroney<\/b> (Dom Pascal) have all signed on to season 14.
