Back in May, it was confirmed<\/a> that Ariana Grande<\/a> had landed a role in the upcoming Meet the Parents<\/i> sequel, Focker In-Law<\/i>, which is currently scheduled for release around Thanksgiving 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n For context, the first movie came out in 2000, and stars Ben Stiller<\/a> as Gaylord \u201cGreg\u201d Focker, who is planning to propose to Teri Polo\u2019s<\/a> character, Pamela Byrnes. As you probably know, the film is all about Greg meeting his future in-laws for the first time, with Robert De Niro<\/a> playing his terrifying soon-to-be father-in-law, Jack Byrnes, who takes an instant dislike to him.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Then, in 2004, the first sequel, Meet the Fockers<\/i>, was released. Here, Greg and Pamela make their parents spend time together ahead of their wedding, with Barbra Streisand<\/a> and Dustin Hoffman<\/a> famously taking on the roles of Greg\u2019s mom and dad.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Meanwhile, Little Fockers<\/i> came out in 2010, which follows Greg and Pam after they have welcomed twins.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n While little is known about Focker In-Law<\/i>, it is thought that Ariana will be playing the fianc\u00e9e of Greg and Pam\u2019s son \u2014 and Ben heaped praise on the star when discussing<\/a> her casting during an appearance on Today<\/i> back in June.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Then, last month, it was reported that Superman<\/i> actor Skyler Gisondo was in talks to star opposite Ariana in Focker In-Law<\/i>, playing Greg and Pam\u2019s son.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n At the time, this news received a mixed response, and one popular reply to a Film Updates tweet<\/a> about the report was from an Ariana fan account, which read<\/a>: \u201cwhy are directors afraid to put her with someone HOT.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Fast-forward to Tuesday, and 29-year-old Skyler confirmed his role in the upcoming movie by sharing a screenshot of a Deadline news report about his casting to Instagram<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Taking the Ari fan\u2019s response in his stride, Skyler also included screenshots of the aforementioned tweet in his photo carousel, and joked in the post\u2019s caption: \u201cProud to be a Focker.
