Denizens of the internet were left scratching their heads when Lana Del Rey<\/a> appeared to ignite a feud <\/a>between herself and fellow alt-pop star Ethel Cain<\/a> on Thursday (Aug. 14). But there\u2019s at least one person who is thoroughly enjoying this latest beef \u2014 rap superstar Nicki Minaj<\/a>.<\/p>\n In a series<\/a> of<\/a> posts<\/a> to X on Friday (Aug. 15), Minaj shared that she cannot stop listening to the song snippet Del Rey shared to her Instagram, in which the Grammy-nominated singer took aim at Cain. \u201cI\u2019ve been singing \u2018Ethel cain hated my instagram post\u2019 all morning. Help!!!!!\u201d the rapper wrote. \u201cAnd something about the Waffle House & a picture w\/some boy? But how can a melody & instruments & background vocals & the mixing be so good that I\u2019m walking around all day talking about a person named Ethel who I do not know hating an instagram post I never even posted?\u201d<\/p>\n More from Billboard<\/strong><\/p>\n In Del Rey\u2019s song snippet, the singer appeared to take shots at Cain by using references to a pair of photos they both posted featuring Salem\u2019s Jack Donaghue, as well as a New York Times<\/em> headline referring to Cain as \u201cthe most famous girl at the Waffle House.\u201d Cain responded to the post in an Instagram Story, in which she said that Del Rey had blocked her on the app.<\/p>\n Billboard<\/em> has reached out to reps for both Del Rey and Cain for comment.<\/p>\n Minaj was clear about not taking sides in the developing feud, adding to her first post that she\u2019s \u201csure Ethel is a nice person,\u201d before she reminisced on Del Rey\u2019s infamous, since-deleted \u201cquestion for the culture<\/a>\u201d 2020 Instagram post. In the original post, the \u201cSummertime Sadness\u201d singer aimed at critics who said her music was \u201cglamorizing abuse\u201d by pointing out that artists such as Minaj, Beyonc\u00e9, Doja Cat and others had earned No. 1 songs singing about \u201cbeing sexy, wearing no clothes, f\u2013king, cheating etc.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cRemember that time Lana dissed all the girlies but we had no idea why but none of us said anything back?\u201d Minaj wrote. \u201cLmaooooo not we let Lana walk in the lunchroom & run EVERYBODY pockets wit no weapon & no gang & said not one thing about it.
