This year has brought about plenty of change in Cardi B\u2019s<\/a> life, and she\u2019s embracing her new chapter, which she says is \u201cvery personal.\u201d<\/p>\n Cardi candidly opened up about life these days in an Instagram Story<\/a> on Thursday, as she heads into the release of her Am I the Drama? <\/em>sophomore album. <\/a><\/p>\n More from Billboard<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThis chapter in my life is very personal to me,\u201d she wrote. \u201cI\u2019ve proven people wrong over and over again and it\u2019s time to prove that to point to myself again.\u201d<\/p>\n The IG Story post was soundtracked by Jay-Z\u2019s<\/a> \u201cImaginary Players,\u201d which Cardi heavily samples in her \u201cImaginary Playerz\u201d single,<\/a> which arrived on Friday (Aug. 15).<\/p>\n The 32-year-old also released a lavish visual<\/a> to the single, which finds Cardi turning the tarmac into a fashion show runway, before heading to Paris to indulge in the luxuries of Europe and a relaxing yacht day at sea.<\/p>\n Earlier this week, Cardi revealed she received Jay-Z\u2019s stamp of approval for \u201cImaginary Playerz.\u201d \u201cIf he didn\u2019t approve it, I probably wouldn\u2019t even feel a certain type of way neither, because it\u2019s like, \u2018OK, maybe I just had to come a little bit harder,\u2019\u201d\u00a0she said<\/a>. \u201cBut I\u2019m glad that I came hard and he loved it.\u201d<\/p>\n After filing for divorce from Offset<\/a> for a second time in 2024, Cardi has embraced a new relationship with NFL star Stefon Diggs<\/a>, and the couple seems to be going strong as the summer wraps up.<\/p>\n \u201cImaginary Playerz\u201d follows \u201cOutside\u201d as Cardi gears up to release her anticipated sophomore album, with Am I the Drama? <\/em>set to arrive on Sept. 19.<\/p>\n Best of Billboard<\/strong><\/p>\n Sign up for Billboard’s Newsletter<\/a>.
