Children\u2019s educator and YouTube star Ms. Rachel called out a pro-Israel group after it asked Attorney General <\/span>Pam Bondi<\/span><\/a> to investigate her, accusing her of spreading \u201cHamas-aligned propaganda.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI think it\u2019s sad to take someone\u2019s dedication and love for all children and try and make that wrong,\u201d Ms. Rachel, whose real name is Rachel Accurso, <\/span>told Geoff Bennett of \u201cPBS News Hour\u201d Wednesday<\/span><\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s not wrong. It\u2019s wonderful to be an advocate for all children.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Dubbed the \u201cmodern day Mr. Rogers,\u201d Accurso has built a massive following of parents and children through her YouTube series \u201cSongs for Littles,\u201d which features educational videos supporting early development. Outside of her child-oriented content, Accurso shares positive messages<\/a> f<\/span>or parents on her TikTok page.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n In April, pro-Israel group StopAntisemitism sent a letter to the Department of Justice that asked it to investigate<\/a> the children\u2019s educator, saying \u201cher posts have largely ignored the suffering of Israeli victims, hostages, and Jewish children.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Following the letter, Accurso doubled down<\/a> on her advocacy, but called the backlash \u201cpainful.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cDeeply caring for a group of children who are in an emergency situation, who are starving, doesn\u2019t mean you don\u2019t care equally about all children. That\u2019s false,\u201d Accurso told Bennett. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n In a separate <\/span>interview with Democracy Now<\/span><\/a> that aired Wednesday, Accurso said the criticism has been difficult but that the \u201cpain will never compare to the pain of not speaking out during a genocide.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The United Nations warned late last month that starvation and malnutrition in Gaza are at the highest levels since the war began, with experts attributing that to <\/span>Israeli blockades<\/span><\/a>. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu <\/span>denied anyone is starving in Gaza<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n StopAntisemitism\u2019s letter came amid President Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s<\/span> crackdown on anti-Israel criticism, which has led to several visa holders<\/a><\/span> being placed in Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention<\/span> for expressing their views. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The group has continued to attack <\/span>Accurso.
