Scott Wolf<\/strong><\/a> has spoken out about his contentious split from estranged wife Kelley Wolf<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201c[My] continued hope is to have this most difficult chapter of our family\u2019s lives remain as private as possible, however, the well being of my children is at stake, and that will always be my priority,\u201d the actor, 57, said in a statement to People<\/em><\/a> on Friday, August 15. \u201cThere are some significant challenges that are making our situation incredibly difficult and contentious, and it is tragic for all involved.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scott added that he was \u201cinformed of some deeply disturbing and entirely false allegations\u201d made about him via Kelley.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am now choosing to come forward and share that she has described to me her plans to \u2018make claims\u2019 about me, although she also admitted, \u2018I do not believe they\u2019re true,\u2019 in order to gain an advantage in what she sees as a \u2018battle\u2019 in court, and in the court of public opinion,\u201d the statement continued. \u201cIn order to protect my kids, I am providing the text messages she sent to me where she describes this plan, so there are no questions about her intentions, or the malicious intent behind her false allegations made and\/or planned for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the alleged text messages viewed by People<\/em>, Kelley, 48, claimed that she \u201cwas advised to make claims that are possible,\u201d including accusing Scott of things \u201csuch as psychological abuse, child abuse, child endangerment, stealing with passports.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you accused me of all the things you put in the restraining order, you made me into a villain,\u201d the alleged message read. \u201cThe only way I can fight back is to produce claims that are either the same as yours or greater.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelley\u2019s alleged message stated that she acted to \u201ccreate more urgency to get the kids back. Or at least get back joint custody.\u201d (The exes share three children<\/a>: Jackson, 16, Miller, 12, and Lucy, 11.)<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough her claims are completely baseless and incredibly dangerous, the worst part is that they are traumatic for our children,\u201d Scott\u2019s statement read. \u201cI hope that anyone who might speak publicly or report on such things, will consider this before spreading any further information from a clearly unreliable and completely compromised source.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tKelley Wolf defended her work ethic and \u201ccompassionate\u201d side while claiming \u201cheinous\u201d allegations to the contrary are keeping her from her and estranged husband Scott Wolf\u2019s children. \u201cI wish you all knew the \u2018whole\u2019 story of the last 5 years. I have a feeling things would make more sense,\u201d Kelley, 48, wrote via her Instagram [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Scott concluded his statement asking for \u201cprivacy and respect\u201dand expressed his gratitude for those who have \u201cshown their love and support\u201d in the challenging time.<\/p>\n

Kelley and Scott split back in June with the Party of Five<\/em> alum filing for divorce<\/a> after 21 years of marriage.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter 21 years of marriage, I have made the most difficult decision of my life, and filed for divorce from my wife, Kelley,\u201d Scott said in a statement at the time. \u201cOur children have always been, and continue to be, the loves of our lives and our every priority, so I kindly ask for privacy at this time as we help guide them through this new chapter.\u201d<\/p>\n

That same month, Kelley was detained by police<\/a> after making \u201cconcerning\u201d comments about her relationship with Scott, per law enforcement. She was hospitalized and later released.<\/p>\n
