And then, two household names just climbed aboard the project, further upping fans’ excitement this summer.<\/p>\n Anna Faris<\/strong> and Regina Hall<\/strong> are set to return for Scary Movie<\/em>, set to release in 2026, according to a joint Instagram post<\/a> by the two actresses and their co-star Marlon Wayans<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The caption’s text, accompanying a throwback pic of Faris, 48, and Hall, 54, simply reads “SM6” \u2014 referring to how the 2026 comedy will be the franchise’s sixth installment.<\/p>\n \u201cWe can\u2019t wait to bring Brenda and Cindy back to life and be reunited with our great friends Keenen, Shawn and Marlon \u2014 three men we\u2019d literally die for (in Brenda\u2019s case, again),” Faris and Hall said in a statement to Deadline<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n The Wayans brothers are reuniting for the first time in 18 years to write the film’s original script, with help from co-writer Rick Alvarez<\/strong>. Scary Movie<\/em> is prepping for an October shoot in time for a June 12, 2026 global theatrical release via Paramount, as Deadline<\/em> reports.<\/p>\n The franchise was first developed by Marlon, 53, as well as Shawn Wayans<\/strong> and Keenen Ivory Wayans<\/strong>. The latter, 67, co-wrote and directed the first two films, and will return to produce the upcoming comedy. Marlon and Shawn, 54, wrote and starred in the first two installments.<\/p>\n This will be the sixth film in the franchise, with Michael Tiddes<\/strong> set to direct, according to Deadline<\/em>.
