Country music legend George Strait picked up some praise from Donald Trump on Wednesday, and he will also be getting an honor from the president.<\/p>\n
That is because Strait was among those named by Trump in the 2025 Kennedy Center Honors Class. He was joined by KISS, Sylvester Stallone, actor Michael Crawford and Gloria Gaynor. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe first is country music star, actor and producer George Strait,\u201d Trump said Wednesday as he announced the class. <\/b><\/a>\u201cGreat. Over an extraordinary four decade career, George has sold over 120 million records worldwide, amassed 60 #1 hits, and produced 33 platinum certified albums, more than any other living American. That is amazing.<\/p>\n \u201cHe is believed by millions of people to be as good as you can get, and he is beloved by hundreds of millions of people all over the world. He\u2019s really something, and they call him \u2018The King of Country,\u2019 and we know him very well. George Strait.\u201d<\/p>\n Trump was not done with his praise for Strait, though.<\/p>\n \u201cLooks nice,\u201d Trump said when Strait\u2019s photo was revealed. \u201cGood looking guy. Hope he still looks like that.\u201d<\/p>\n The Kennedy Center honors are slated to take place in December and will air on CBS. <\/p>\n Strait, who is 73, began his career in 1976 and is still active. He has churned out more than 33 records across his career. <\/p>\n He was named the Artist of the Decade for the 2000s by the Academy of Country Music, and was CMA Entertainer of the year in 1989, 1990 and 2013.
