JP Saxe, a Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter was hit with a sobering reality recently as he was forced to cancel his upcoming tour due to low-ticket sales.<\/p>\n
The singer took to social media back on July 28 to tell fans that he needed to sell \u201cthousands more tickets to his tour in the next 48 hours,\u201d or he would have to call the whole thing off.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m extremely embarrassed to tell you this, but I\u2019m going to tell you anyway,\u201d he said in a video he shared to Instagram.<\/b><\/a> <\/b>\u201cIf I don\u2019t see 20-or-so thousand tickets to my tour in the next 48 hours, it\u2019s going to be cancelled.\u201d<\/p>\n Saxe returned with an update to tell fans that after his announcement he sold \u201ca few thousand more tickets.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I am beyond grateful to those of you who bought one,\u201d he said. \u201cThose few thousand tickets are a reminder that being transparent in failure sometimes can be more powerful than the fa\u00e7ade of success. They\u2019re a reminder of how wonderful it can be to ask for help and watch a community come together. <\/p>\n \u201cThis really was the nicest the internet has ever been to me,\u201d he added. \u201cBut what those few thousand tickets are not is enough to save this tour.\u201d<\/p>\n He then apologized to his fans for having to call it off. <\/p>\n \u201cEvery ticket purchased will be fully refunded with a small side of immense gratitude from a dorky ginger Canadian,\u201d he added. \u201cI\u2019m still a little embarrassed. I\u2019m also feeling a lot of ambition to make sure this never happens again, and just to make the most honest music I possibly can.
