Erykah Badu<\/a> has set Friday, August 29, as the release date for Abi & Ala<\/em>n, her new collaborative album with The Alchemist.<\/p>\n

According to Consequence of Sound<\/em><\/a>, before it lands on streaming, the pair are previewing the whole project live on the Abi & Alan Luv Is Tour.<\/em><\/p>\n

Those shows feature Badu performing with The Cannabinoids\u2014RC Williams, A1, Rob Free, S1, and Jah Born\u2014using her signature digital-analog fusion.<\/p>\n

The first song from the album, \u201cNext to You,\u201d arrived last month.<\/p>\n

Abi & Alan<\/em> is Erykah Badu\u2019s first album in 15 years, following 2010\u2019s New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh)<\/em>.<\/p>\n

After wrapping the August run with The Alchemist, Badu will return in the fall for a separate slate of Mama\u2019s Gun 25th-anniversary dates under the banner Mama\u2019s Gun \u201925: The Return of Automatic Slim Tour.<\/p>\n
