Harrison Ford<\/strong> may be among Hollywood\u2019s most iconic movie stars, but this year he\u2019s enjoying a career first: an Emmy nomination. The 83-year-old legend scored his inaugural nod for his role as gruff-but-vulnerable therapist Paul Rhoades on Apple TV+\u2019s Shrinking<\/em>. And during a Televerse FYC panel on Aug. 15, Ford’s co-stars made it clear they\u2019re rooting for him to take home the gold.<\/p>\n \u201cFirst-time Emmy nominee \u2014 and who I\u2019m rooting for \u2014 the<\/em> Harrison Ford,\u201d moderator Yvette Nicole Brown<\/strong> declared as she welcomed the first-time nominee to the stage, drawing cheers from the audience.<\/p>\n More from Gold Derby<\/strong><\/p>\n Ford \u2014 who appeared visibly touched throughout the conversation \u2014 admitted the recognition still feels \u201cunfamiliar.\u201d \u201cI\u2019m very pleased, very honored. I just don\u2019t \u2026 dude,\u201d he joked, referencing a celebratory text exchange with castmate Michael Urie<\/strong>.<\/p>\n At one point, Ford grew emotional while reflecting on his experience with the Shrinking<\/em> ensemble. \u201cIt\u2019s extraordinary to have incredibly talented genius actors to work with, to be in their scenes, just to be around them. This is just a dream for me \u2014 and it doesn\u2019t happen \u2014 it just doesn’t happen. I\u2019m so grateful for it at this juncture of … whatever it is I\u2019m doing.\u201d<\/p>\n Ford’s castmates were equally effusive about working alongside him. The camera loves him.\u201d<\/p>\n Jessica Williams<\/strong> summed up the cast\u2019s affection simply: \u201cWe really do like each other. Everyone\u2019s really rooting for each other. And there\u2019s something really special about that.\u201d<\/p>\n Brown \u2014 echoing the audience\u2019s sentiment \u2014 made her position on the Best Comedy Supporting Actor race clear: \u201cMost people, if not everyone in here, have loved you forever. We want you to get this one. We want this to be your first win as well.\u201d<\/p>\n Win or lose, Ford seems content just to be part of the Shrinking<\/em> family. \u201cThe writing keeps us going \u2026 you have the reality of the drama and you have the pleasure of the comedy.
