The Rotten Tomatoes score for Nobody 2<\/em> has debuted two days ahead of its Aug. 15 release. The Bob Odenkirk-starring sequel is getting uniformly positive notices from critics, scoring nearly the same as the much-praised 2021 original.<\/p>\n Following the events of Nobody<\/em>, overworked assassin Hutch Mansell (Odenkirk) takes his long-suffering wife (Connie Nielsen), kids (Gage Munroe, Paisley Cadorath), and dad (Christopher Lloyd) on an overdue vacation to an amusement park located in the burg of Plummerville. Unbeknownst to the Mansell clan, the town is under the thumb of a corrupt sheriff (Colin Hanks) who quickly realizes he\u2019ll have to dispatch Hutch if he wants to continue his money-making operations.<\/p>\n As of Aug. 13, Nobody 2<\/em> has averaged an impressive 83 percent critical consensus<\/a> on the site. That\u2019s almost exactly the same as the original<\/a>, which currently sits at an 84 percent critical consensus.<\/p>\n Obviously, critics have been largely favorable about Odenkirk\u2019s second outing in the title role. Many are calling it a perfect end to the summer movie season, adding that this sequel is one of the rare ones which is as good as the original. Variety said that Nobody 2<\/em> is \u201ceven more maximally heightened, ridiculous, and diverting\u201d than its \u201cknowingly preposterous\u201d predecessor. \u201cNobody 2<\/em>, directed with high-powered chintzy glee by Timo Tjahjanto, is honest enough to let us know that the movie is giggling right along with us,\u201d the review concludes.<\/p>\n The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a> wrote that Tjahjanto \u201cstages the mayhem-filled proceedings expertly, perfectly realizing the franchise\u2019s blend of bone-crushing violence and slapstick humor. The stunt team and fight choreographers deserve tremendous credit as well. Not to mention Odenkirk, who one-ups Liam Neeson in not only becoming an unlikely action movie star at a mature age but also displaying an impressive physicality in the elaborately staged fight scenes.<\/p>\n However, not every review has been positive.
