\u201cThe Breakfast Club\u201d<\/a> is returning to theaters next month in honor of its 40th anniversary. <\/p>\n According to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, Universal Pictures will re-release the John Hughes<\/a> film in cinemas nationwide on Sept. 7 and again on Sept. 10. Fans can sign up here<\/a> to get notified when tickets go on sale in their area. <\/p>\n The coming-of-age flick, which was originally released in February 1985, follows five high school students from very different social circles who spend a Saturday together in detention. Molly Ringwald, Judd Nelson, Anthony Michael Hall, Emilio Estevez, and Ally Sheedy all star in the classic title.<\/p>\n Earlier this year, the cast reunited for the first time in four decades for a panel<\/a> at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo.<\/p>\n During the panel, the cast praised Hughes, the film\u2019s late director who died of a heart attack in 2009. \u201cHe liked us,\u201d Nelson said, reflecting on working with Hughes. \u201cI didn\u2019t realize at the time how rare it was for a director to have such a positive relationship with actors.\u201d<\/p>\n Hall emphasized how Hughes created a friendly atmosphere on set. \u201cHe was so right there with us throughout the whole process… He was the greatest, he was the best. It was always an ongoing collaboration with each of us.\u201d<\/p>\n The cast also shared their thoughts on whether they\u2019d ever do a sequel \u2014 and they collectively seemed against it much to fans\u2019 chagrin.<\/p>\n Ringwald explained that the movie \u201cis very much of its time\u201d and didn\u2019t represent the world today. \u201cYou know it\u2019s very white, this movie. You don\u2019t see a lot of different ethnicities; we don\u2019t talk about gender, none of that, and I feel like that really doesn\u2019t represent our world today.
