Zach Bryan has been all over the headlines across the past couple of months.<\/p>\n
There is the ongoing beef with one-time collaborating artist John Moreland, and that came to light after the news that Bryan inked a pair of deals \u2014 re-upping with Warner Music and selling his publishing \u2014 to bring in a reported $350 million.<\/p>\n
And somehow he and ex, Brianna Chickenfry and Barstool Sports\u2019 Dave Portnoy are still going at it. <\/p>\n
But there\u2019s another headline that you might have missed, too, and it involves the country music star\u2019s first big purchase after his deals were reported. Turns out the 29-year-old bought something \u2026 well, it\u2019s not every day that you hear about someone striking it rich and running out and buying a church. But Bryan did just that \u2014 although it appears the idea was at least in the works before the deals \u2014 because he has reportedly purchased the former Saint Jean Baptiste Church in Lowell, Massachusetts. <\/p>\n
Bryan\u2019s interest in the church is due to his love for one of its former altar boys \u2014 Jack Kerouac. Kerouac became known as one of the fathers of the 1950s \u201cBeat Generation\u201d and was famous for his novel, \u201cOn the Road.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bryan\u2019s 2022 single \u201cBurn, Burn, Burn,\u201d was reportedly inspired by the book.<\/p>\n
Bryan intends to transform the building, which at one time was headed toward becoming condos, into the Jack Kerouac Center.<\/p>\n
The Kerouac Society announced<\/b><\/a> Bryan\u2019s purchase of the church and said it \u201cmarks a turning point, bringing vital funding and renewed energy to the years-old project.\u201d The Kerouac Society also said the collaboration \u201cmarks a significant step toward honoring the legacy of one of America\u2019s most iconic writers while fostering creativity in the heart of Kerouac\u2019s hometown.\u201d<\/p>\n It said the center will feature exhibits, live music, public readings, and community events.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve been working on this deal with Zach and his team for several months,\u201d said Slyvia Cunha, leader of Marking and Business Development for the Jack Kerouac Estate said.<\/p>\n \u201cZach reached out in October, and right from the start, it was clear he shared our passion for honoring Jack\u2019s legacy while also creating a dynamic, creative space,\u201d she continued. \u201cHe stepped up and delivered in a big way, showing incredible generosity.
