Shanghai Animation Film\u2019s animated adventure \u201cNobody\u201d rose to the top of the China box office in its second weekend, grossing RMB237.1 million ($32.9 million) between Aug. 15\u201317, according to Artisan Gateway.<\/p>\n
After opening in second place last week, the film has now earned $138.5 million. Directed by Yu Shui, the film draws inspiration from \u201cJourney to the West,\u201d reimagining the classic mythology through the eyes of minor demons on their own spiritual pilgrimage. The film is in second position at the global box office, according to Comscore.<\/p>\n

Operating from within the walls of a Japanese-controlled studio, he covertly shelters Chinese soldiers and civilians in an act of quiet resistance. It ranked sixth on the global chart.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Shadow\u2019s Edge\u201d (iQIYI Pictures), a thriller directed and written by Larry Yang, debuted strongly at No. 3 with $20.5 million. The film follows retired Macau surveillance expert Wong Tak-Chung (Jackie Chan), who\u2019s brought back to track a high-tech heist carried out by a mastermind criminal known as the \u201cWolf King.\u201d Assisting him is rookie cop He Qiuguo (Zhang Zifeng), as they face off against Tony Leung Ka-fai\u2019s cunning Fu Longsheng and his criminal gang. It has a cumulative box office of $30.3 million to date and is ninth on the global chart.<\/p>\n \u201cDongji Rescue\u201d (Seventh Art Pictures) ranked fourth with $6.8 million and its cumulative stands at $45.4 million. The wartime drama recounts the rescue of British POWs from the sunken Lisbon Maru by fishermen from Dongji Island during World War II.
