Bryan Kohberger<\/strong><\/a>, the man who admitted to killing four University of Idaho students<\/a> in November 2022, said one of the victims\u2019 names, per newly unsealed police documents obtained by People<\/em><\/a> and NewsNation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to the docs, surviving roommate Dylan Mortensen<\/strong><\/a> told Idaho police that Kohberger, 30, identified Kaylee Goncalves<\/strong> by name during the quadruple slaying.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometime in the early morning hours, [Mortensen] was awoken and opened her room door [redacted] and heard a male say, \u2018It\u2019s okay Kaylee, I\u2019m here for you,\u2019 and crying,\u201d Idaho State Police Tpr. Jeffory Talbot<\/strong> wrote in a summary based on a discussion with Sgt. Dustin Blaker<\/strong> of the Moscow Police Department, per People<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe then shut the door. A short while later, she opened her door again and saw someone approximately 5\u201910\u201d tall, dressed in black with a ski mask, standing in the kitchen,\u201d the document continued, per NewsNation.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe surviving roommates of the four University of Idaho students murdered by Bryan Kohberger spoke out at his sentencing hearing on Wednesday, July 23. Kohberger, 30, was sentenced to four consecutive life sentences after pleading guilty earlier this month to the murders of Maddie Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin. In response to the new documents, Kaylee\u2019s father, Steve Goncalves<\/strong>, told TMZ<\/a> on Sunday, August 17, that this was the first he had heard of the chilling detail.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only thing more disturbing than the murder of your child is hearing that the killer called out her name while committing this heinous act \u2014 and then discovering the prosecutor deliberately hid this fact from the families,\u201d Steve said.<\/p>\n

According to Steve, \u201cKaylee knew she was being hunted \u2014 yet no one in that town lifted a finger to stop it.\u201d<\/p>\n

In early July, Kohberger pleaded guilty to the murders of Kaylee, Madison Mogen<\/strong>, Xana Kernodle<\/strong> and Ethan Chapin<\/strong>\u00a0as part of a plea deal to avoid the death penalty.<\/p>\n

The convicted killer was handed four consecutive life sentences<\/a> during a sentencing hearing on July 23.<\/p>\n

Mortensen delivered a victim impact statement<\/a> at the hearing, describing Kohberger as a \u201chollow vessel, something less than human, a body without empathy, without remorse.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe chose destruction. He chose evil. He feels nothing. He tried to take everything from me: my friends, my safety, my identity, my future,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe will stay here, empty, forgotten and powerless,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
