Amy Madigan at the premiere of Weapons last month via Associated Press<\/span><\/p>\n This article contains spoilers for Weapons.<\/span><\/p>\n Weapons<\/span> star Amy Madigan<\/span> has finally weighed in on the reports that her character in the film could be about to get her own spin-off.<\/span><\/p>\n Although she doesn\u2019t make a proper appearance on screen until well past the halfway mark, there\u2019s no denying that Amy is the true scene-stealer in Zach Cregger\u2019s much-discussed new horror movie<\/a>, in which she stars as the bizarre \u201caunt Gladys\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n Since Weapons\u2019 release earlier this month, there\u2019s been no end of dissection of the Gladys character, with Deadline<\/a> reporting last week that production company New Line is in \u201cearly talks\u201d about a prequel movie which would explore her origins.<\/span><\/p>\n Amy has now given her first interviews about Weapons, in which she shared her take on whether she\u2019d be up for donning that iconic red wig again and picking out some new sparkly brooches to play Gladys again.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI think it\u2019s really nice to be in a conversation,\u201d the Oscar nominee told The New York Times<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m definitely not poo-pooing it, but because I have been doing this for a long time, things aren\u2019t real till they\u2019re real.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cListen, I love Gladys, I love being in Zach\u2019s imagination and being on Zach\u2019s page, but what are people going to talk about in a couple of weeks or in November? It\u2019s great and exciting when people talk about it, but I\u2019m one of those people that kind of takes it with a grain of salt.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n She added: \u201cI don\u2019t know how to answer that right now. I\u2019m not saying no, I just really would want to mix it up with Zach.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Amy Madigan as Gladys in Weapons New Line<\/span><\/p>\n During a separate interview with Entertainment Weekly<\/a>, she also claimed: \u201c<\/span>I just had such a great time working with Zach and being inside that brain of his. That\u2019s really the gift of how the movie came out.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe other stuff has to do with all sorts of conversations that I would never be privy in and business things like that. But, you know, I love Gladys, so I\u2019ll leave it at that.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Following the success of Weapons, Zach\u2019s next project will be a reboot of the Resident Evil franchise, which he\u2019s already at work on.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
