The Cribs<\/a> are back to announce their first new album in five years, Selling a Vibe<\/em>, out on January 9th, 2026 via Play It Again Sam.\u00a0 As a preview, the veteran British rockers have revealed lead single \u201cSummer Seizures\u201d and its accompanying video. Stream it below.<\/p>\n Marking the follow-up to 2020\u2019s Night Network<\/em><\/a>, the project was produced by former Chairlift member Patrick Wimberly, who has worked with acts including Solange, MGMT, and Lil Yachty. The resulting \u201cslower, more considered recording process\u201d with a focus on melody came after the Jarman brothers made a concerted effort to \u201crevive the essence of their relationship as family.\u201d<\/p>\n Get The Cribs Tickets Here<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cI think as time has gone by our albums have become more and more open \u2014 and as such the songs on Selling a Vibe<\/em> feel very personal,\u201d bassist and vocalist Gary Jarman shared in a statement. \u201cSo it can be nerve wracking releasing them because they matter so much to us. I know that may sound overly romantic or idealistic, but ultimately \u2014 it\u2019s the only thing that matters when all is said and done.\u201d<\/p>\n Related Video<\/p>\n He continued, \u201cWe don\u2019t want this to be seen as an \u2018indie rock\u2019 record or a \u2018punk\u2019 record or whatever \u2014 all those things that used to seem to matter to us \u2014 our only \u201cSummer Seizures\u201d was the first song to come out of The Cribs\u2019 recording sessions, with guitarist and vocalist Ryan Jarman explaining that it was inspired by \u201call the major events\u201d in his life coming together during the summer it was made. He added, \u201cIt\u2019s a song about love, tragedy, and learning to live with yourself, all set during summertime in NYC.\u201d<\/p>\n Beginning in September, The Cribs are set to embark on a brief string of previously announced North American tour dates in support of Selling a Vibe<\/em>.
