Television Academy members will have until Aug. 27 at 10 p.m. to cast their ballot and decide who will take home awards on Sept. 6 and 7 for the Creative Arts Emmys and on Sept. 14, the night of the telecast.<\/p>\n More from Gold Derby<\/strong><\/p>\n With actual votes finally being counted for the categories awards predictors have been sweating for the last few months, it’s time for one last look at the state of the race. Will Severance<\/em>, leading the pack with 27 nominations, continue its run? Or can The Pitt<\/em> cling onto life and take the stage in an upset? Will Hacks<\/em> stay the comedy to beat? Or does The Studio<\/em> have the entire entertainment industry firmly in its corner?<\/p>\n This is where things stand on the major Emmys races as voting gets underway.<\/p>\n The two streamers are battling it out across categories, but none so apparently as the top series races. And Apple TV+ is leading in both. Severance<\/em> and The Studio<\/em> both have strong leads over The Pitt<\/em> and Hacks<\/em>, respectively, according to the Gold Derby odds.<\/p>\n Best Drama Series<\/p>\n But neither outcome is a foregone conclusion. All four series have passionate fan bases, so the final two awards of the night could remain question marks for most of the ceremony.<\/p>\n Best Comedy Series<\/p>\n The news of The Late Show<\/em>‘s cancellation sent shockwaves through the television community. The conversation around the news’ timing (shortly after CBS paid off the Trump White House to settle a seemingly winnable 60 Minutes-related court case) painted the show and its host, Stephen Colbert<\/strong>, as wronged parties, and the sway in public opinion played out legibly in the odds for Variety Talk Series.<\/p>\n Best Variety Talk Series<\/p>\n The Late Show with Stephen Colbert<\/em> has never won its category, and that could change next month if the predictions on Gold Derby are any indication. Right up until the news of the show’s cancellation, The Daily Show<\/em> led the category, which it had previously won over Colbert. But the situation looks a bit different now.<\/p>\n Just two years after winning Best Comedy Series and taking home the two lead acting prizes, The Bear<\/em> is struggling to keep up. Across categories, there’s only one race where the FX series ranks higher than third in Gold Derby’s odds, and that’s in Comedy Directing, which is almost guaranteed to go to The Studio<\/em>‘s showy oners.<\/p>\n Few victories seem as locked in as Adolescence<\/em>‘s apparently imminent win in Limited Series.
